Gilding ground ready-to-use 300 g
Gilding ground for inside gilding.
Work at room temperature (at least 20 °C). Prepare the gilding ground by adding demineralized water to the powder in a 1:1 ratio, e.g. 10 g of product and 10 g of water (1 g of water = 1 mL). Prepare only the amount needed, the product contains no preservatives and has only limited durability once the water has been added.
Using a soft-bristled brush (we recommend using bombas for gilding, using a brush large enough to avoid the formation of streaks and lines) now apply the undercoat, moving the brush only in one direction (do not brush back and forth) ).
Now apply the 2nd and 3rd coat proceeding as above. If necessary also apply a 4. but no.
After the last coat has completely dried, proceed with a light sanding with fine grain (eg 1000-1500-2000-3000 grain) to remove surface irregularities (for example streaks left by the brush).
Now we proceed with the gilding:
Moisten the surface to be gilded with the liquid activator (use adhesive activator) and lay the real gold or silver leaf.
