Light yellow ocher (ICLES) Italian pigment Dolci
Icles yellow ocher is a natural inorganic mineral pigment. It comes from the hilly area of Verona, precisely from Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, and is obtained by grinding a natural earth, iron hydroxide (limonite), which turns red with calcination. It has excellent light stability, and good temperature and humidity stability. It dries rather slowly.
It is a slightly opaque pigment with little coverage, but the shade is very lively and warm. It lends itself to different effects by varying the amount of thinner. It can also be used for glazes. Furthermore, it has a medium coloring power.
Advice for use: you can use it for different decorative techniques, such as oil, tempera, encaustic and fresco.
