It was born in Tuscany, from the cinnabar hydrothermal deposits of the former Monte Amiata volcano. Mercury sulfide mineral. It is a natural red pigment (color index PR 106.77766) with good covering power.
It is suitable for tempera, watercolor, oil, acrylics.
