The Charbonnel Lefranc gilding mission is famous throughout the world. The mission is a particular type of paint and serves, in the context of gilding as a glue for gold leaf.
It is applied evenly with a soft brush. At the moment when gold leaf is applied it should not be sticky-moist but almost sticky-dry. The mission drying time is about 3-5 hours depending on the thickness of the applied layer, temperature and humidity. After browning, leave to dry for a week before applying protective varnishes. Suitable for gilding small internal surfaces or if it is not possible to use the mixture 12 hours (humid climate or too much dust).
