Ancient green earth is a natural inorganic mineral pigment, known since ancient times, used especially in the Classical and Renaissance ages. It is obtained by purifying and grinding the raw material available in the Prun area of Verona.
It has good stability to light, temperature and humidity. When diluted it appears as a liquid and transparent paste. It dries quickly. Sought after for its characteristic semi-transparency, it has very poor coloring power. Furthermore, it has poor covering power.
Recommendation for use: It can be used for different decorative techniques, such as oil, tempera, encaustic and fresco.
