Bremer Blau is an artificial copper carbonate and was a widely used wall paint in the 17th and 18th centuries.
This synthetic azurite has a slightly greener hue than natural azurite. However, the paint application is much more uniform. There is evidence for using a mixture of Bremer Blau and Enamel for darker shades.
Bremer Blau is suitable for watercolor and tempera, but not for oil.
Chemical Description: CuCO3-Cu(OH)2 basic copper carbonate containing approximately 55% copper.
