The 23 3⁄4 kt orange gold leaf is ideal if you are looking for a product for gilding icons, furnishing accessories, luxury interiors, wooden artifacts and for fine decorations in general. The characteristic orange color is obtained from gold melted at 1000 ° C and bonded with other metals such as copper and silver. The orange gold leaf is available in free or transfer form.
Here are the differences between the two types:
free leaf: to use it you have to remove it from the booklet by placing it on the gilder's cushion on which you can cut it with a gilder knife into smaller parts before applying it to the desired surface with the gilding brush in squirrel or synthetic. transfer leaf: the leaves are in fact placed on tissue papers that can be removed from the booklet: in this way you can extract them and place them more easily on the surface to be gilded.
You can apply the product with the gouache technique, spreading it on a background prepared with chalk, bolus and rabbit glue. Alternatively, you can use the mission technique as a glue for the leaf.
It does not oxidize. Each booklet contains 25 leaves.
The gold icon compared to normal gold leaf is devoid of micro holes. Thanks to a higher quality control it is ideal for those looking for a “perfect” gold leaf, with a homogeneous surface and without veins.
