Repair damaged gilding on ceramics, such as plates, jugs and cups, by using Kolner Ceramic Size Gel and gold leaf!
A gilding adhesive designed for gilding of small areas on ceramics and is particularly good for repairing damage to high gloss gilding on porcelain and ceramics. The Gel version has a much thicker body than Ceramic Size and can fill small gaps, cracks and chips in porcelain, ceramic and china and disguise them under a layer of gold.
Dilutable with water, it can be applied on ceramic or porcelain. Transfer gold leaf is used.
Make sure that the surfaces to be treated are dry, free from dust and grease.
After about 4 hours of drying, the treated surface can be golden.
Press the gold on the side of the protective tissue paper with some cotton wool.
Remove the protective paper.
Press the gold again and then polish the surface in one direction with the Kolner fabric.
With this product, layers with a thickness of up to 1 mm can be formed.
The layer is built by applying the product several times with a spatula.
In between, a drying time of at least 2 hours is always respected.
After the application of the last layer, a drying time of 12 to 24 hours is taken into account, depending on the thickness of the layer.
