The volume is produced through the account of the restoration works that led to the recovery of four wooden crosses insistent on the Arezzo area: the Cimabue cross, the so-called Arezzo cross, the Castiglion Fiorentino cross and the Bonaventura cross of Segna. Each of the interventions consists of a historical-artistic introduction and a file relating to the restoration intervention. The volume is introduced and completed by two interesting essays on The history of wood restoration up to Carlo Guido (Paola Refice and Rossella Cavigli) and The history of carpenter's workshops in the Arezzo area (Paola Refice and Andrea Gori).
