Burnt umber is a pigment known since ancient times, available in nature, and obtained by grinding and calcining the raw material.
It has good stability to light and humidity, good covering power and can be used in any painting technique such as fresco, tempera, encaustic, oil.
Composition: Iron oxide, clay silicates.
