JASPER RED Kremer pigment

Amorphous quartz colored red by iron-(III).
The glass-like transparency and high brilliance often suggest red jasper in layers of historical color. Occasionally the pigment has been mistaken for realgar in analysis.

Semi-transparent, sandy structure, silicon oxide SiO2.

Red Jasper is suitable for Tempera, Watercolour, Cement / Tadelakt, Oil, Silicate Binder, Acrylics, Lime / Fresco.
