Soft wishab sponge, for cleaning paintings, restoration
Wishab sponges are made of a light yellow mass with a spongy consistency, soft as suede, supported by a rigid base.
Wishab sponges allow the removal of dirt from frescoes, canvas, paper and fabrics.
Pressing lightly rubs the sponge on the surface to be cleaned. All the dirt and dust are tied to the crumbling sponge particles, consuming the yellow mass. In stubborn cases this procedure, which should preferably be performed in the same direction, from top to bottom, will have to be repeated.
In addition to normal dust deposits, black smoke can often be eliminated, often made up of altar candles and incense.
