Il manuale di arte sacra dei monaci del Monte Athos

La guida del monaco athonita Dionisio da Furnà è uno dei più antichi testi rimasti dedicati alle tecniche dell’iconografia bizantina e postbizantina. Compilata nel primo trentennio del XVIII secolo, ebbe una elevata diffusione in forma manoscritta tra gli iconografi del Monte Athos, e solo nel 1845 fu per la prima volta pubblicata (in Francese), benché in un’edizione influenzata dalle aggiunte di un noto falsario, Costantino Simonidis, qui emendata e restituita nella traduzione di Giovanna Donato Grasso.

I ordered several wooden boards to paint icons. Upon delivery, half of them showed scratches on the surface to be painted or saw marks on the side. The wooden boards are made without the care necessary for the production of works of art. Dal Molin has not had any hearing for my request for replacement of the unusable art supply nor for a refund saying that "these details have no importance". I do not recommend this business.

A company that is worth a visit for the wonderful and wide range of basic materials from shaped wooden boards, chalked, tools and colors: everything you need to create icons or pyrographic works. They have wonderful painted icons, books and also organize courses on the subject. Courteous, competent staff, generous with information and suggestions. Worth a visit.
