Hollow core is a type of wood highly appreciated for its lightness (the weight is not excessive, not even for large boards) for its great stability and resistance.
This resistance is also due to the empty central part, which is reinforced with a honeycomb structure. The honeycomb panel also has excellent stability characteristics and does not undergo any drop such as for example solid wood.
The elegance of the honeycomb core
The thickness of a honeycomb board can vary from 4 to 10 cm and even beyond, depending on the size and customer requirements. Even if it is not 100% solid wood, honeycomb is an elegant material that will enhance the colors and designs of the pictorial surface.
This particular elegance is given by the fact that the outline of the table is made with solid wood, while the interior is filled with a honeycomb in three-layer poplar plywood, a material created by our company.
The table is subsequently closed, front and back with 6-8-10 mm thick poplar plywood. Everything is glued in total safety with a heat press, for a very resistant large table.
Dal Molin can create panels for iconography in honeycomb with excellent stability characteristics: the maximum measurements can reach 6 meters in length and a width of approximately 2.5 meters and can be made in several pieces that can be surmounted and joined together with a rod joint or other types of joint. The shapes available are rectangular, arched, cusp and cross.
This particular material, the honeycomb core, allows the possibility of plastering and painting on both sides. The table can be equipped with pre-arranged hooks and multiple wall anchoring solutions: this allows a simple assembly and a quick and practical disassembly.
