Vine black is a natural organic plant pigment. It is obtained from the calcination of wine lees, from which a pure carbon is obtained. This pigment has been known since classical antiquity.
It has excellent stability to light and humidity. It appears as a very light powder which requires an average amount of diluent to form a fluid and compact paste. It dries quickly and has a medium coloring power. It also has excellent covering power.
Recommendation for use: It can be used for different decorative techniques, such as oil, tempera and fresco.
