Soluble in lacquer thinners for the manufacture of varnishes. The resinous dye known as Dragon s Blood or Sanguis Draconis is a product derived from a large spice of the rattan palm, the Daeomonorps Draco, a tree native to the islands of the Indian archipelago, but mainly produced in Sumatra and Borneo. This variety is known as Dragon´s Blood Palm. Dragon´s Blood produced on the island of Socotra is extracted from the Dracaena Cinnabari.
