Nicosia green earth is a natural inorganic mineral pigment known since ancient times and widely used in the medieval and Renaissance ages. It is a natural green earth, purified, dried and ground with ball mills. Compared to Brentonico green, it has a more bluish tone and superior color rendering.
It has good stability to light, temperature and humidity. Diluted it appears as a liquid paste suitable for coloring lime mixtures. Also sought after for its characteristic semi-transparency. Furthermore, it has good covering power.
Recommendation for use: It can be used for different decorative techniques, such as oil, tempera, encaustic and fresco.
