Burnt sienna is a natural inorganic mineral pigment, known since ancient times. It is obtained by calcination at 400° and subsequent grinding of the raw material coming mainly from Tuscany.
It has high light stability and good humidity stability. The color is dark red, by varying the amount of thinner you obtain darker or darker tones. Furthermore, it has good covering power.
Recommendation for use: It can be used for various decorative techniques, such as oil, tempera, encaustic and fresco.
Formula: Fe2O3 * nH2O + Al2O3 (60%) manganese – Ferric oxide, hydrate, aluminum oxide.
